About Me
Professional side of my life I began my work as an occupational therapist in the 80’s, worked in and constructed in-patient and outpatient mental health programs in the 90’s. I moved into the area of addiction, pain and mental health therapy while furthering my training in expressive arts therapy in the 2000 decade. I graduated with a masters in expressive arts therapy in 2012 while also continuing to develop skills as group therapist, case manager and family counselor in the areas of addictions and mental health at Alberta Health Services. I work part time at the Foothills Hospital Addiction Centre. After completing the graduate program in Saas Fee, Switzerland, I began working as a part time trainer with the Prairie Institute of Expressive Arts Therapy (PIEAT) and co-lead workshops in a expressive arts certificate program.
Artist side I love to create art and bring the expressive arts into all that I do. These days I love to write and play music on the piano, sing with groups, sculpt in everyday material, doodle or write on giant sketchpads, and felt with colourful wool. I bring play, music, the visual arts and writing to my sessions.
