My Inspirations
The impact that the expressive arts can have on learning, integrating change, and creating possibilities excites me. It has been an ultimate privilege to have worked in the field of mental health and addiction for over 20 years and to have learned so much about change and overcoming obstacles from my own process of change and from the people (and their families)
that have had the courage to make changes for the better in their lives. I truly believe in the power of groups to heal and my hope is to add to the groups available out in the community and that these will be great alternatives to individual support and provide opportunities for skill development, inspiration and connection.
I believe that health and vitality grow when we learn to accept our natural rhythm, find our voice and learn to create or share stories and songs. We can learn to navigate transitions and turning points in skilful ways. The arts can deepen our connection to our body, mind and spirit. A stronger connection to nature can teach us about the need for rest and the flow of energy.
